Our Couch to CrossFit program is a 4-week program that will safely get you started on your fitness journey. You'll be part of our group training sessions on Monday and Wednesday evenings, learning new skills and movements, and you'll leave the gym with nutrition and exercise directives to get you through to the next week.

Richard Rigor, owner, and head trainer has been coaching clients for over 26 years with experience training all populations, effectively and safely. He will be the one coaching you along with his staff!

Our Couch To CrossFit program will:

Here's what you get:

  • 8+  group coaching/training sessions - Each session includes a group dynamic warm-up, brief skills session to introduce movement concepts and exercises, metabolic conditioning, and basic mobility. Upon completion of the physical aspect of the program, the coach will take some time each week to distribute and introduce the weekly assignment, talk about recovery, and give people the opportunity to ask questions.
  • Weekly Homework - The homework will include a warm-up and conditioning workout to be completed 1-2 times at home during the week. It will also include advice, tips, and specific actionable tasks.
  • Communication with your Coach - Constant communication and access to your Coach before, during, and after. We understand this is a vital piece in creating the confidence and motivation to move forward to your fitness goals.

Q. What time does it start and how long will each session last?

The first of 8 group training sessions start on Wednesday, January 8, 2018, at 6:30pm. Each session will last approximately 1 hour,  but if you have any questions about the material covered, we'll continue after the allotted class time to ensure you understand what we've taught.

Q. Do I need to bring anything and what should I wear?

Bring a water bottle. We have a filtered water dispenser if you need to refill your bottle. Wear comfortable workout clothing and athletic shoes.

Q. I've had a previous injury to my (shoulder, knee, hip, etc.) and may not be able to perform certain exercises/movements. Can I still participate?

Of course! The beauty of our program is that the workouts are infinitely scalable. We can always modify a movement or workout and still target the result we're looking for. We do this daily in our regular classes. All of our Coaches are trained to modify workouts as needed for members based on current fitness level, mobility, experience, or training around a healing injury.

Q. What happens after the 4-week program?

After you complete the program, we'll show you the options to enroll into our regular CrossFit Birmingham classes if you wish to continue with the momentum you've gained.
